PMD and its Bermuda-based affiliate, PMD Fund Management Ltd, are the Investment Advisor and Manager, respectively, for ASEAN Growth Investments Ltd. ("AGIL"), a Bermuda exempted company created to invest in small and medium-sized, privately-owned companies in the ASEAN region. AGIL capitalizes on opportunities in Southeast Asia by drawing upon PMD’s familiarity with the region, extensive business contacts and expertise in identifying sound companies and projects. PMD management and staff, with over two decades of experience in these markets, have built a strong network of business and professional relationships. The senior staff of PMD have identified and structured corporate investment opportunities in ASEAN and similar markets through several business cycles. These investments have prospered during economic downturns as well as periods of expansion. PMD is applying this experience in AGIL, an aggressively managed investment fund for the benefit of a small group of institutional investors. PMD identifies, structures and implements investments, provides continuing supervision and advice and manages divestment.
Success in emerging markets investment requires extensive local knowledge, business relationships, experience, detailed due diligence and frequent management contact and supervision. PMD provides this required expertise. While a complex niche, this area of emerging markets investment offers the potential for very high performance over the medium term if the time, effort and attention to detail are invested. AGIL represents a vehicle for direct equity investment in a pool of investments, spreading and diversifying risks while offering high returns. AGIL's investment strategy minimizes financial, economic and political risks:
An investor in AGIL avoids the gyrations of local or international stock exchanges and currency markets while benefiting from an aggressively managed investment in a diversified portfolio of rapidly growing medium-sized businesses and from the fundamental economic growth of the region over the medium term.
